Spotlight on Worship

This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.
Psalm 118:24 (NRSV)

He called a child, whom he put among them, and said, “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Whoever becomes humble like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.”
Matthew 18:2-4 (NRSV)

Those of us who work may get a week or two for summer vacation, but most school children get to experience the exuberant joy of a seemingly endless round of warm summer days that appear to go on forever. I remember those days fondly, waking up each morning to the possibilities of the day: would I ride my bike, make flower necklaces, or play ball with the other children in the neighborhood? God makes every day full of possibilities for us. All that is needed is to become like children so that we can see these possibilities and rejoice and be glad. Won’t you join us for worship this summer? We gather as God’s children, so when we awake each morning, we do so to an endless round of days in His love.
