Spotlight on Worship

Have mercy on me, O God, according to your steadfast love; according to your abundant mercy blot out my transgressions.
Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin,

For I know my transgressions, and my sin is ever before me.    Psalm 51 NRSV

March 3: Lent is fast approaching, but before we set once again upon that path, we gather to remember Transfiguration Sunday. During the service we will celebrate Holy Communion by intinction.

March 6: We gather at 1:00 for Ash Wednesday service to begin the season of Lent. Ashes will be placed on the foreheads of those who desire them, as a reminder that we are mortal, as made of dust, and it is the Son of God who removes our sin and makes us clean again.

March 10: The first Sunday in Lent coincides with Daylight Savings Time. Don’t forget to set your clocks forward one hour the night before!

As we continue through the weeks of Lent, the Worship Committee will be working hard to make the sanctuary a place that enables us to reflect more closely on our relationship with God, with God’s Church, and with God’s world. Won’t you join us as we start our Lenten journey?
