Albany Crop Walk

The Annual CROP Walk is right around the corner: Sunday, May 4, at a new location!

St. Vincent de Paul Church
900 Madison Avenue
Albany, NY 12208

Bethany once again received the Silver Sneaker Award thanks to the support and generosity of Bethany donations and walkers: Wendy Delehanty, Bill Murray, and David Nichols.

CROP stands for “Communities Respond to Overcome Poverty”. People of all ages collect pledges and walk in one of the ten CROP Walks that take place in the greater Capital District.

Each year on the first Sunday in May, congregations throughout Albany County join together in an effort to end hunger, one step at a time.  A highlight is a local celebrity who has agreed to be the Honorary Chairperson for the walk. Walkers solicit donations throughout April by creating a fundraising page linked to the Albany page of the CROP Hunger Walk website and in-person solicitations during worship and other means. On the first Sunday in May, walkers congregate at St. Vincent’s in Albany for an Opening Ceremony, turn in money collected and to participate in the walk.
